I'm making progress on the cookbook; it's almost done. But the writing, along with other things going on in my life right now, have been all-consuming, hence my recent absence from the blogosphere. Buttons has also made progress. She now ventures out more and likes to sleep on the cat bed with Pablo.
Buttons also comes out to cry for her supper and eat along with Pablo and Bossa Nova. And now, when I kneel on the ground, she occassionally comes straight up to my face and gives me head butts and lets me pet her, while she purrs like a motor. I think she finally knows that she hit the lottery.

Congratulations on all counts! Great picture and news of Buttons. Can hardly wait for your cookbook.
Knowing cats is is hard- they think so much differently than us... It's most of their appeal!
hoorah! It's great news about little Buttons. It really does seem like she and Pablo remember each other. So sweet. I love kitty head butts. They are one of my favorite things in all the world!
good luck with the book.

Can't wait for the book.
This is how out of touch I've been- I didn't know you had a new blog, or a new kitty in your life! Yay for the new year, a monthish late...
I'm so glad that buttons has settled in! And I can't wait to see the finalised cookbook!! When is the deadline?
What a wonderful picture!! So glad to hear about Button's progress. You and Omniman are doing a great job!!
Aww Buttons has come so far since the days of being sequestered in the bathroom. And I'm glad to hear the cookbook is getting closer to completion :)
Good luck with everything!
Hooray for buttons!
That's wonderful news about Buttons and your cookbook!!
Aww, happy cats! That's a great picture.
Good luck with finishing it up!!!
I think you asked awhile back (and I forgot to respond, but this post reminded me) about who was publishing my book. That is a bridge yet to be crossed. I'm going to get it all together first and then seek out a publisher. I didn't want to deal with deadlines, so I thought I'd start the recipes first.
If I can't find one, I'll self-publish but I'd rather find one...I have a few ideas of local-ish vegan-friendly publishers.
As sad as I am that there are not going to be any new recipes to test :( I'm super excited for the book release!!!! Keep at it! ;)
Awesome! She may never be a classic lap cat but who cares when the rest is this good? Congratulations on turning the corner with her.
Buttons has found a true friend in Pablo. I hope they don't have to be separated. Looking forward to reading your cookbook.
You're not alone in a blogopshere holiday. I too haven't been near it much lately.
I'm so glad that Buttons has settled in so well and realized her good fortune! She's just beautiful (and Pablo is gorgeous too!)
All the best as get closer to finishing the book.
So do you think Buttons is Pablo's Mom? They are def bonding. It would be sad to see them seperate. Mother and Child Reunion and all....
Great to see Buttons has settled in so well.
I first found your blog here, but I haven't commented before.
But I'm looking for advice on places to advertise (physical locations and online) a dinner party to benefit City Kitties Rescue, and I figure you are likely to be in the places to know the answer.
And I don't yet have a source for dessert because I am not a baker and was idly hoping you'd be interested, but no pressure since I haven't started asking around seriously yet and asking you is just a random attempt (though you would be free to plug your book).
More information can be found at my blog - http://nocounterspace.net/
top entry is the flier and two entries down is the tentative menu.
Thank you.
i love button stories.
I enjoyed reading your blog. Keep it that way. isbhmulllzbyydho
