yellowtail to the rescue

Are there animal products in your tipple? Insidious ingredients like gelatin, egg whites, fish oil, and casein often make their way into beers, wines and some liquors.

The good news is that all Yellowtail red wines are vegan. These inexpensive table vinos [usually $6-9 in my area] pair well with so many foods. I am especially partial to the Shiraz. They aren't fine wines, per se, but since I'm not made of money, they work perfectly fine for me.

Is your wine is vegan? Check out Barnivore.

I love Yellowtail and I agree with you on the shiraz. Nice shot of the varities!

.. and they have cute bottles too.

I adore Yellowtail Shiraz. I love that I can drink it and know for certain that's vegan, and I don't have to spend $25 on a bottle vegan organic wine. Yea for Yellowtail!

Didn't know this! Awesome.

My only problem with Yellowtail is the issue of food miles since they are from Australia. Is it better to drink a locally produced, non-vegan wine, as opposed to one that's flown from the other side of the world? Just food for thought.

Thanks for the info. It's nice to know that Yellowtail is a suitable subject for the "local vs. veg vs. price" balancing act.

yay! thanks for letting us know! A friend of mine is crazy for Yellow Tail Shiraz and always thought it was her only non-vegan guilty pleasure :) I'll let her know immediately.

I didn't know this was Vegan. I never even knew wine wasn't. You can bet this will be all i will drink from now on.

That's great news!

Although I'm the odd one out here (do NOT like Yellowtail), the link you provided is AMAZING! I was told that on a couple of occaisions when I wasn't working, people came in looking for vegan wine. I'm going to print off this list and post it with the vegan products highlighted. And...let me just say that I am EXTREMELY pleased to see so many Canadian wineries on the list that are vegan. Woot!Woot!

Hey, that's great, It's good to have a "go to" especially when you are in an area with very little choice.

Good to know as we can actually get the brand here.

Thanks for the information. I'll have a look if we can find these wines in France.

hey...we drank 3 bottles of that the other night. yum!

For a great vegan wine that isn't from Australia, check out Frey Vineyards. I'm not sure what their distribution is like, but they have reasonably priced bottles you can buy on their website.

I'd like to know how this information came to you, which conflicts with this site:

http://www.barnivore.com/wine/Yellow%20Tail

AND the yellowtail site itself.

Furthermore, I'm surprised at the number of followers yellowtail has. I think it's a horrible brand.

Please be careful with your wine selection as not ALL of the [yellow tail] wines are vegan-friendly. I found this information in the FAQ section of their website:

Is [yellow tail] wine vegan?

[yellow tail] BUBBLES, [yellow tail] BUBBLES Rose, [yellow tail] Moscato, [yellow tail] Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, [yellow tail] Riesling, [yellow tail] Pinot Grigio, [yellow tail] Chardonnay and [yellow tail] Rose are NOT Vegan or Vegetarian. All of our red varietals are Vegan and Vegetarian.

PS. I have recently purchased your cookbook and I love it!
